BabyFood — Terms of Service

Welcome to BabyFood. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and BabyFood (the "App", "we", "us") governing your use of the BabyFood mobile application and related services. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Eligibility & account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including keeping your password secure.
• You may only have one personal account. Sharing your account or selling access is prohibited.

2. License to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and to Apple's standard EULA terms (which apply if you downloaded the App from the App Store).

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post content that is hateful, threatening, harassing, sexual, violent, or otherwise harmful — see Section 4 for the full list.
• Use the App for any illegal purpose or to violate any law.
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your relationship with anyone.
• Upload viruses, malware, or attempt to compromise the App or our servers.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or interact with the App beyond normal personal use.
• Resell, redistribute, or commercialise data obtained from the App.
• Solicit other users for products/services, including direct-marketing baby formulas, supplements, or medical products.
• Share content about other people's children (besides your own) without their parent/guardian's consent.

4. User-generated content (UGC) — zero tolerance

When you post comments, replies, or share recipes ("UGC"), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and moderate that content within the App. You retain ownership of your UGC.

We have zero tolerance for the following — these are filtered automatically and removed on report within 24 hours:

• Objectionable content: hate speech, harassment, threats, doxxing.
• Sexual content of any kind. The App is for parents discussing baby care; sexual content is never appropriate.
• Content sexualising or endangering children.
• Spam, scams, phishing.
• Dangerous medical misinformation (e.g. anti-vaccine propaganda, dangerous diet advice for infants).
• Promotion of unsafe baby practices (e.g. honey before 1 year, cow's milk before 1 year as a main drink, unsafe sleep positions).
• Recipes with allergens the submitter knows are present but didn't tag, when intended for ages where that allergen is contraindicated.

We use automated keyword filtering plus user reports. Verified violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or account termination without refund.

5. Reporting & moderation

• Tap the ⚑ flag on any comment or recipe to report it.
• Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
• You can block other users; their content will no longer appear in your feed.
• Repeat offenders are banned. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Subscriptions & payments

BabyFood is currently free. If we add paid features in the future, terms for subscriptions (price, renewal, cancellation) will appear at point of purchase and through your Apple ID / App Store settings. Apple's standard refund policy applies — we cannot process refunds directly.

7. Medical disclaimer (full)

The App provides information for educational purposes. Specifically:

• Allergen flags and ingredient analysis are indicative, not exhaustive. Product formulations change; manufacturers' labels are authoritative.
• Recommended quantities and timings are general guidance — your pediatrician's recommendations always override App suggestions.
• Recipes shared by other users are community contributions, not nutritionist-vetted plans. Verify ingredient safety against your baby's allergen profile.
• The medication reminder feature is a convenience; it doesn't replace a prescription, dosage check, or pharmacist consultation.

We are not liable for any health decision made in reliance on the App. Always call emergency services for medical emergencies.

8. Intellectual property

• The App's code, design, brand, and standard recipes/articles are © BabyFood. All rights reserved.
• You retain ownership of UGC you submit (Section 4).
• You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute non-UGC App content without our permission.

9. Third-party services

The App integrates Apple/Google sign-in, Supabase, Netlify, and Open Food Facts. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or content.

10. Account deletion & termination

• You can delete your account in-app any time (Settings → Profile → Delete Account). This is irreversible.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity.
• On termination, you lose access to your data — we recommend exporting first via adminbabyfood@jorasoft.com.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected. We don't warrant that data in the App (including UGC from other users) is accurate or reliable.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BabyFood is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim (if any), or 100 USD, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify BabyFood from any claim arising from (a) your UGC, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect, giving you time to review and, if you disagree, delete your account.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye for Turkish residents and by the laws of the user's country of residence for EU/EEA/UK residents. Mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country always apply where they would otherwise be more favourable to you.

We try to resolve disputes informally first — email adminbabyfood@jorasoft.com. EU consumers may also use the EU ODR platform.

16. Apple App Store EULA

This is a standard licensed application — Apple's standard EULA applies as an additional layer. Specifically: Apple is not a party to these Terms, has no responsibility for the App, and you may only use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in accordance with Apple's Usage Rules. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
